Dr. H. Joseph Naim
Dr. Naim received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from University of Southern California in Los Angeles, and received his Medical Degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City with a distinction in Research. He completed his residency in General Surgery at New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, NY, where he was Chief Resident during his final year. Dr. Naim completed his fellowship in Minimally Invasive Bariatric Surgery at University Medical Center at Princeton, NJ under the direction of world renowned bariatric surgeon Robert E. Brolin, MD.
Dr. Naim is board-certified in General Surgery, and is currently licensed to practice medicine in the state of California. He has been in practice since 2004, specializing in laparoscopic gastric bypass, open gastric bypass, Revisional surgery,Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy, and LAP-BAND® placement procedures. Dr. Naim is a member of Cedar-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach and Chapman Medical Center in Orange County which are are Bariatric Center of Excellence Hospitals.
Throughout his career, Dr. Naim has received numerous awards and honors, including Faculty Certificate of Recognition for Scientific Presentation at the International Congress and Endo Expo in Las Vegas, The Highest Research Productivity Award from the Department of Surgery at New York Methodist Hospital, and the Resident Achievement Award from the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons at New York Methodist Hospital.
Dr. Naim has completed extensive medical research throughout his career. After completing his research, Dr. Naim has provided his findings to the field of bariatric surgery through numerous publications and presentations. Dr. Naim is currently affiliated with the American College of Surgeons, American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, The Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, New York State Society of Surgeons, and IFSO, the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity.
